New Investment in RadioNano Therapeutics, Inc.

Innovation Kyoto 2021 Investment Limited Partnership" ("KYOTO-iCAP No.2 Fund"), with Kyoto University Innovation Capital Co.,Ltd. ("Kyoto-iCAP") (Head office: Sakyo-ku, Kyoto; Representative Director: Ko Kusumi) as unlimited liability partner, has made a new investment in RadioNano Therapeutics Inc, (headquartered in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto; Masatoshi Chiba, Representative Director) has made a new investment in RadioNano Therapeutics K.K. ("RadioNano Tx") (headquartered in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto; Masatoshi Chiba, Representative Director) through a third party allocation of new shares.

Overview of this investment
RadioNano Tx was established with the support of Kyoto-iCAP for the social implementation of neutron capture therapy using highly hydrophilic boron-containing inorganic nanoparticles developed by Professor Naoki Komatsu of the Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, and Professor Minoru Suzuki of the Institute for Integrated Radiation and Nuclear Science, Kyoto University.

In April 2024, RadioNano Tx was founded by Masatoshi Chiba, PhD, Hiroshi Kawai, PhD, and Professor Naoki Komatsu of Kyoto University, who have experience in business development and R&D at major pharmaceutical companies.

Kyoto iCAP invested 1 million yen in the hope that neutron capture therapy using highly hydrophilic boron-containing inorganic nanoparticles developed by RadioNano Tx will lead to the creation of new cancer treatment methods.

About Kyoto University Innovation Capital Co., Ltd.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kyoto University, Kyoto-iCAP provides investment and other business support to companies that utilize research results generated by Kyoto University and other national universities. The Company currently operates the Innovation Kyoto 2016 Investment Limited Partnership ("KYOTO -iCAP No. 1 Fund") (established in January 2016) with a total value of ¥16 billion and the KYOTO-iCAP No. 2 Fund (established in January 2021) with a total value of ¥18.1 billion. The KYOTO-iCAP 1 Fund has a maturity of up to 20 years, and the KYOTO-iCAP 2 Fund has a maturity of up to 17 years, enabling long-term support for the practical application of research results at Kyoto University, which has strengths in basic research. The maximum maturity of the KYOTO-iCAP 2 Fund is 17 years. In addition, a portion of the KYOTO-iCAP No. 2 Fund will be invested in national university-launched ventures outside of Kyoto University.
