Takao Fukuoka
Researcher, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University / President, Archaerus Inc.

Born in Iida, Shinshu. Completed graduate studies in engineering at Doshisha University. Researcher at a foreign chemical company and group leader of a company known for blood glucose sensors.
2000: Fascinated by the beauty of gold nanoparticles, he spent a nomadic life and was a student of the first class of Kyoto Entrepreneur School.
2001 Individual proposal was recognized as Kyoto City Venture Company A rank, and Archilus Engineering Limited Partnership was established. However, a former colleague from his former employer, with whom he shares the same date of birth, commits suicide due to restructuring. He was angry at the lack of affluence in the world.
Around this time, he put his idea to Dr. S. Nie (a prominent researcher of plasmonics) at an international conference, and was convinced that the aggregation state of gold nanoparticles is meaningful for the expression of their functions.
2004 Part-time researcher at Doshisha University and University of Hyogo
2013 Awarded a research grant gold prize related to precious metals and started research on plasmonic nanotags with the prize money.
2019 Part-time researcher at Kyoto University COI, while continuing research with competitive research funding.
2022 Founded Archilus, Inc. with co-researcher.
